iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus Have Larger Batteries Than Predecessors

Last week's announcement of the new iPhone 7 models was pretty exciting, but now that the big event is over and done with, it's almost time to take these devices apart and see what makes them tick. According to a report from BGR, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus both have larger batteries than their respective predecessors.

The report cites data released by Chinese regulatory body TENAA, which seems to have accurate information regarding battery figures.

It looks like the smaller iPhone 7 model is sporting a 1,960 mAh battery, compared to the iPhone 6S's 1,715. This gives the new iPhone a 14.3% battery bump, hopefully to support Apple's claim of a 1-2 hour longer battery life.

The iPhone 7 Plus on the other hand has a less significant battery boost. The 7 Plus includes a 2,900 mAh battery, compared to the 6S Plus's 2,750 mAh battery, giving it a 5.5% boost.

While the figures don't seem too dramatic, the extra bump will surely help with the new hardware and software running on the devices. Apple doesn't list any info on these types of internals on its website, so we're just going to have to wait until the devices begin arriving for further testing.
