There have been lots and lots of rumours about new iPhones floating around of late, and today we have another one from AppleInsider, which refers not just to the iPhone 5S, but also to a cheaper iPhone, and says that Apple plans to launch both in August of this year. The news came via a Chinese technology site, EMSOne, which in turn cited Barclays Capital for the story. According to the report, the iPhone 5S will be built solely by Foxconn, but the cheaper iPhone will be built by both Foxconn and Pegatron. The report also says that the iPhone 5S will be truly a world phone, compatible with many more carriers, including China Mobile. This would be thanks to the inclusion of Qualcom’s newest LTE chipset, which works on 40 bands. As far as the cheaper phone is concerned, AppleInsider notes that this follows on from a report yesterday saying that the cheaper phone would be made from polycarbonate, which is the material used to make the very popular old white MacBooks. Interesting![/FONT]
