iPhone 5 car radio problem

I just bought the SONY GT44 car radio with USB and aux, installed it into my Ford KA and attempted to plug my iphone 5 into it to play music. Unfortunately it says on the car radio 'DSNT SPRT' (Doesn't support). What would this mean? Has this anything to do with the lightning plug? And if so, how can I solve this? I'm thinking getting an aux jack cable for it instead but what differences would that make compared to the usb? :ipod:

It could be the 5. Sometimes my sync system doesn't support the lightning USB cable. Did you try a plain auxillary jack?
