As far as I'm aware, my phone is an iphone 5, but note from posts, some have more detail, how do I know which mine is?

The model number on the back cover, starting with A and followed by a four digit number, will help identifying which one it is. Use this list to compare the number:

The original iPhone 5 had a regular home button without Touch ID. The iPhone 5S has Touch ID in the home button. The iPhone 5C has a plastic case available in several colours and no Touch ID.
