iPhone 4 stops charging at approx 50%

This is so frustrating. A while ago, my iphone 4 stopped taking charge at about 50%. I did a restore, and it worked again. After a while, same problem again. I restored, and now again after a while it won't charge past 50%... what the hell is going on?

Would be very grateful for any help.
