iPhone 4 making loud horn noise when on call

I can use the speakerphone and the noise goes away. If this is a repost sorry i could not find where the thread was. Please help

What sound do you have for your text alert? Text sounds will come through during a phone call.

I have it set to short beep. The sound is a constant horn sound that both i and the caller can hear. It goes away on speakerphone.

Out of curiosity is it a high pitch or low pitch horn? The reason I ask, if it is a high pitch it could be a feed back loop. Which means it could be an issue with your noise canceling mic that might need cleaning. If it is a low pitch, then you have an error that might require Apple to look at it.
