Iphone 4 has several that are stuck in download

Facebook, paypal and iBook showed that there were updates. They never completed updating. I reset my phone but they are all stuck. They can't be opened in this state. IOS 6.

Download the updates on iTunes. Attach devices, sync.

I tried that and they are still stuck. I guess I will delete the apps and download fresh

As I already stated, I tried that and it did not work. The only thing that did work was deleting the apps and re-downloading them. Thanks.
