Is it a simple usb plug to walll charger? If that's what it is then fine. I use Android chargers on my iPhone. Just so long as it plug in the wall to USB, no issues.

You can use the iPad charger to charge the iPhone with no problems. I do it all the time as my son stole my iPhone charger for his iPod. The phone will draw the power it needs and no more.

The main difference between the 2 is the iPad charger has an out put charge of 2.1 Amp and the iPhone charger has an out put 1.0 Amp. So the short of it you can use the iPad charger to charge the iPhone. The iPhone charger will charge your iPad as long as you are not using it but will take much longer since it is charging it at half the Amps.
