IMessage

My daughter and I both have IP4's and are at IOS5. We used to IMessage back and forth with no problem. Lately when I start to send her a message it tries to send it SMS or the green bubble. I have tested mine with another user and mine seems OK. She tells me hers quit working at the last software update via ITunes. Anyone have any ideas as to why this may have happened? That update did not affect mine.

Daughter wriote this morning: " It keeps asking me for a password and to use my Apple ID to activate iMessage.
Each time I enter my password (which I have verified is correct) I get an error
message. I attached a screen shot so you could see. My friend was trying to
help me last night and could not figure it out either. There is a button where
it says “Use Apple ID for iMessage”. I press that and start the whole process
again only to get the same message again."
Tried to attach her screen print.
Anyone have an idea?
