I give up. I've been looking online but in vain. I have a tethered jailbroken iPhone 4 and everytime it dies due to low-batt discharge and I plug it i to recharge, it turns on automatically before I get the chance to jailbreak it. As a result, all my files get deleted. How do I get around this?

Dude. It's so simple. Just hold the power button and the home button until the apple logo disappears and then release the power button an hold the home button until the phone enteres DFU mode. Make sure you have redsn0w already running and waiting to "just boot".

Sorry I forgot to suggest to charge it plugged in to the computer already running redsn0w.
