how to delete old emails from the phone?

I got a second habd Iphone. I removed the previous yahoo account, but if i do a search on the phone i still find emails that the previous owner has sent.
Is there a way to "wipe it clean" without loosing all my contacts?

Hi there. There shouldn't be any emails on the phone if you have deleted the email account that was on there.

If you still see some, then you must have not deleted the previous owner's account.

Either way, you can just slide your finger from right to left on the right corner of the email and it will show a delete button.

Only by doing a factory restore one should think.

Still is kind of strange, there must be something you are missing (my dad gave my mom his old 3gs and we deleted his email account and added hers, and there are no old emails anywhere).

Anyways, like iHolophyte said, you might be better off doing a restore/setup as new and have a clean device, with no traces of anything belonging to the previous owner.
