How to change over to new 3gs phone

Daughter gave me her used 3Gs phone, and I want to change over 1G phone account to this new phone? Any suggestions?

what you can do is make sure your computer is authorised and then backup your 1g content on itunes then on the new 3gs iphone you where given you restore to a backup in itunes also if you want you can go into the settings and sign her account out and sign in with yours settings > app store
