Exactly. I still remember waiting for the tones and static, and kinda miss them.

Now if you described it with the annoying sound after the beep beep, or said sounds like a fax I'd of got it.

No never been on dial up,was kidding really,wouldn't wish that on anyone,i do have crackling on the line quite a lot though,no one seems to know what causes it so i'm putting it down to my beloved 1920's/30's phone which i would never get rid of.
