How do i know if have a sim card?

I know dumb question..but just got my replacement in the mail and I'm reading how to activate it and says info have a SIM card in old one to keep it..I have the Verizon iPhone 4, 16g white?

The Verizon iPhone 4 does not have a SIM card. So you can skip that part. The instructions are generic because VZW LTE phones now have SIM cards and they didn't want to print two different instructions sheets.

Ok great thanks, just wanted to be sure..so vasically once I back up old one, just plug new one in and sync? Do I need to call *228 to activate?

If VZW did there normal routine then yes, all you should do is backup the old phone, restore to the new phone and then dial *228 and select option 1.
