How can I move icons from page to page?

I have three pages of icons on my iPhone 7. Is it possible to move icons from page to page to consolidate them? I miss the good old days when I could plug the phone into my MacBook Pro and use the mouse or trackpad move icons anywhere I wished. Thank you in advance for your expetise and assistance.

Just tap and hold on an icon until it starts to jiggle and then drag it to the edge of the page to take it to the next one. You can consolidate them by dragging one on top of the other to create a folder.

I moved an item off the bottom of the page - so there are only 3 icons there.
I’m then able to move the icon onto the bottom and then move it onto the page snd line I want it on.
