Just last week we published an article about a survey conducted in the global information sector that studied the purchasing trends of employees in the tech area, amongst other things. The research revealed that most workers wished for an iPhone or iPad and the trend seems to be advancing outside the global information field.

Novel information relayed via AllThingsD brings news that home improvement retailer Home Depot is jumping on the Apple bandwagon, as well. All in the detriment of BlackBerry. The company is planning to purchase up to 10,000 iPhones for its corporate and managerial stuff.

BlackBerry has announced for some time that it plans to release a new and revamped handset. However, for Home Depot, the end of March, when the Z10 is expected to drop, is apparently too far away.

Home Depot isn’t the only business that has chosen to shun the services of BlackBerry. Lately, the National Transport Safety Board and the U.S. and Customs Enforcement Agency have notably abandoned the collaboration with the smartphone maker. The company which was the top choice for most enterprises back in the day, is presently facing an endless line of blows, even as it tries to regroup and unleash new products.

Contacted to comment Home Depot’s decision, BlackBerry declined to say anything. However, spokeswoman Amy McDowell took the opportunity to comment about their products.

“We are in the process of launching BlackBerry 10 globally in key markets and we are seeing positive demand for the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone in countries where it is already available ”
