Holding "Volume Down" button is NOT focussing my camera???

If I hold my "volume down" button whilst in my camera it is supposed to focus the camera but mine just takes photos?? - please help.advise

Curious. Where did you read that this was a feature of iOS 7?

Those sources got it wrong. Pressing either the volume up or down buttons will do nothing more than take a picture. I just tried it.

The reason I asked where you read it is because there are at least three different descriptions out there and none of them are from an Apple site.

Technically the feature, which hasn't been publicly introduced as far as I can tell, works in the following fashion.

1) Press volume up, takes picture as framed. Which means you can set your point of focus and light metering prior to taking the picture.
2) Press volume down and release takes a picture AFTER a quick auto focus is forced.
3) Press volume down and hold takes a rapid series of pictures after a quick auto focus is forced and with no follow up auto focusing done.

Hopefully Apple will clarify this further in the future.
