When your tech gadgets have some of the most iconic and beautifully crafted designs on the planet, you would expect that some companies might take inspiration from them. Also, when you have a marketing machine that is second to none, you would also expect others to follow your lead. But, sometimes Apple's "competitors" simply go too far.

We thought it would be entertaining to share some of the funniest new products or marketing campaigns that seem to be shameless ripoffs of Apple. The ones we are including are not subtle facsimiles. No, these are obvious copycats that just showed up at CES 2016 this year.

Of course, some design aesthetics are bound to be similar, but it should not be that hard to come up with a combination of shape, sizes and colors that are unique and creative without looking like every other Apple product. These knock-offs beg the question, "Can't these companies come up with their own ideas?"

You can see the ones we chose in the thread below. If you can find any others that we missed so far this year, feel free to add it to the discussion.

Our first Apple ripoff is a new laptop from LG. It's called the LG Gram 15. As you can see, it borrows too heavily from Apple's Macbook Pro design queues. If someone slapped a shiny Apple sticker on the back you would have a hard time telling them apart.

This next one comes from a famous Swiss watch maker. It's the H. Moser & Cie Swiss Alp Watch. These guys basically took the exact same watch case and face design of the Apple Watch, then jammed a swiss mechanism inside, tagged it with a $25,000 price and called it a day. Is this supposed to be some kind of reverse slap in the face to Apple?

Finally, this last one isn't as much of a copy of Apple's Macbook design (although that could be argued too), as it is a case of a company ripping off Apple's marketing department. Lenovo decided to showcase their new Yoga 900S using what looks like an exact replica of an older Apple Macbook ad. Just shameless...

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :)

Copying is cheaper than innovating, that's why there's so much of it.
