New here - my trusty Palm Treo finally died on me and I now have an iPhone 4. But, I wonder now if I should have waited as version 5 is soon on the way?

Welcome to the forum. Do not wonder, u did right by buying the 4, we know everything about the 4 but we know less about the 5 and we need a phone now for ready to use ready to go, not a phone to experience all kind of bugs and give feedbacks for fix and so on, so if you were in real need of a phone that work and is reliable, then you've done the right choice.
