Help on Iphone 4

Hello

I went to the store and bought an Iphone 4 on outright basis in US... i do not have any carrier accounts or anything... is it possible to get the phone unlocked as i will be taking it out of USA..?
It mentions that this is an AT&T i phone .. they gave it to me even though i do not have an account...
pls help..

what's your current iOS ? i bought it from US also, and accidentally upgraded my iOS to 4.2.1 and unfortunately i cannot unlock my iphone yet.. considering to change the phone to the FU one.
