HELP broken iphone

I am having problems with my original I phone, I unlocked it some time ago and things were working fine. One day it stopped working, after start up it just freezes with a cartoon picture of steve jabs, with some weird foreign lettering in a bubble box to the right of his mouth

I have attached a picture of the screen.

Can someone please help me! I have tried restoring it to factory settings, tried reloading the software on it.

has anyone seen this before?

When you unlocked it did you use a custom firmware...?
