Halfbrick Announces New Barry Steakfries Game - Machine Gun Jetpack

Halfbrick Games had a truly amazing 2010, with Fruit Ninja, Monster Dash and Age of Zombies together achieving more than 20 million downloads worldwide. Now they’re starting off 2011 in grand style, with a brand new game featuring the ruggedly handsome, dashing and charming Mr Barry Steakfries, hero of both Monster Dash and Age of Zombies. The game is called Machine Gun Jetpack, or MGJP for short, and sees Barry stealing the aforementioned MGJP and running amok!

The gameplay is very simple; all you have to do is push a button to control Barry’s height as he rockets through the air, spraying bullets and swear words (probably) at the ground. You’ll have to guide him round obstacles such as electricity fields, moving lasers and even high-powered missiles.

During the course of the game, you’ll be able to get vehicle pick-ups such as Gravity Suit Barry, the classic Badass Hog, a giant mech suit called Lil’ Stomper, and the very strange-sounding Crazy Freaking Teleporter.

And that’s not all! You can also collect coins to spend in-game on other upgrades, such as a top-hat, double shields, and a jetpack that looks like a shark’s jaws and shoots bullet teeth. Additional content will be added via ongoing updates, as is the norm with Halfbrick.

Look for MGJP to be released sometime this summer, as a universal app for iPhone and iPad.
