Haven’t managed to set up notifications for your iOS 5 yet? If you’re new to this, as many people are, and are momentarily blinded by all the banners and annoying pop-ups, badges and sounds, don’t worry, we’re here to help. Let’s start with the Weather and Stock widgets and see how you can set them up.Apple provides costumers with a very neat weather option. Find out how tomorrow is going to be like with a five-day forecast. The information is pulled off Yahoo! Weather. In order to change your location you need to follow these simple steps:
  1. Open Weather App or use the Weather widget in the Notification center
  2. Go for the “i” information button that’s on your lower right.
  3. Once there, you should be able to chose either between Local Weather or add a location manually. To add a new location, simply tap the + option in the upper left-hand corner.
  4. Now you can search by City, ZIP or State and put in your location.
The Stock WidgetThe Stock Widget will display an animated ticker of stocks fetched from Yahoo! Finance, and just tapping on the widget will bring you to the Stocks app. Or you can just open the Stocks app from the iPhone phone home screen. Here are the other steps involved:
  1. As above, tap the “i” information button in the lower right corner.
  2. To search stocks just type in the company name. To add a new stock just tap the +button
  3. Tap Done to “seal the deal”.
So there it is. You can now check the weather in your city whenever you like, or check the value of the stocks for the companies you invested in. It’s a piece of cake!
