I too had the same problem, then i spoke to iphone. The guy told me to change my outgoing mail server address to smtp.o2.co.uk and now it works fine for me. Can you post your relevant settings?

When I send an email I get an error message that says recipent does not allow relaying

I found this info on the apple support forum googling your issue.

On your iPhone:
-Select Settings
-Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
-Select your AOL.com account
-Select SMTP from the Account Info Page (outgoing server)
-Select SMTP from the SMPT Page
-From the smtp.aol.com page
-Check that the Server is ON
-Check that the Host Name is smtp.aol.com
-Check that your User Name is correct
-Check that you Password is correct

When you type in your user name, do not enter @aol.com on the end.
Hope this helps

Hi Vin, I am asking about your outgoing server settings. The staff in my local Apple store told me that iPhone regularly tries to update the email server information and if it gets any kind of error, it forgets the old settings. The only server it knows about for sure is .mac, Let me know your problem is resolved or not? You could also try Xrayeyes reply!
