Deleting languages

I'm sure this is somewhere on this forum however I do not understand what I have read. I would like to delete launch daemons and languages off my phone. My problem is I do not understand how to SSH and where to go. Is there someone who can explain it step by step??

There is a cydia app that you run from MobileTerminal that walks you through it, can't remember what its called tho! I did it last time. The amount of space it saved was so small tho. What are the alleged benefitd?

Deleting daemons and unused languages clears up space on your ram and makes the phone faster.

Hmmm well I can't say I noticed any improvement. I know that / is only about 300mb but deleting it all only saved me a couple of meg. Having said that there is no reason to keep basque Estonian etc I suppose!

Ok found a couple in insanelyi repo: lang2.2 and lang2ez. I think the second one might be easier to use! I'm not sure if the one I used wasn't a different one. I seem to recall finding these two first and then another elsewhere.

Basically add insanelyi repo then go to Sections>iScripts in Cydia. There are a couple of daemon removal scripts in there too. I just used the auto one "daemon tool" but if you want be more ruthless there is a manual package

Deleting languages is a waste IMO. First of all, the language files are relatively small so deleting them is not going to have any sort of noticeable difference. Also, you must be careful when deleting unused languages because some languages are used by certain apps or functions that you feel you may not need and it will end up causing you to have to restore your phone. (for example, emoji icons require the japanese langauge pack)

Yeah that's what I thought. Most of the scripts say they leave Japanese and emoji alone but the memory gain was so small it's not worth the bother.
