Deleted contacts still showing up??

Hello all,

I have an iPhone 5, however when I delete a contact, it doesn't seem to be completely deleted from the phone. When I go to send a text, that persons name will still show up as "other." For example, if I delete John from my address book, when i type john as the contact to send a message to, that contact will show up as an other. None of my email accounts are set to sync contacts, additionally I have tried to turn off Icloud, delete from iphone, etc. to no avail.

Does anyone know how I can delete some of these contacts? When I upgraded I deleted a lot of contacts I no longer talk to. Any help would be great!

I would try logging on icloud website and check my contacts there. Maybe his still using them from backup. If it is, delete them from icloud.

The contacts don't appear when I log on to Icloud either; I read on a similar thread its part of the new operating systems. True?
Any idea whether this will get fixed?
