delete old email address

When I type an email address which recently has been changed, it still appears in the email address sugestion list. Even if it isn't in Contacts anymore and isn't in any send, trash, inbox folder etc. Isn't there a way to clear this 'recent used' email address list?

I deleted both the email address on my iMac in Contacts as well as in Mail's email address history. Then I synched it again, but still the once entered email address still appears when I start entering it. Is there now way to clear previous entries??
