Go to google, on the search engine type apn settings for iPhone tmobile or if you have a jailbroken device you can install the pushfix source u can also google that up

To send pictures, you can do that with various ways. If you want to send an MMS message to someone's phone, you need to have data/3G on. To send picture messages with apps such as Whatsapp, you only need wi-fi.

If you want a non-internet solution, Celeste bluetooth from Cydia allows iphone to interact with other cell phones via bluetooth, but it is not compatible with ios 5 yet.

Simplest is if you're not jailbroke and are using iOS 5 or above then simply iMessage it. If you're jailbroke then you can't update and you'll have to use a jailbroken app as the member above has recommended. Another reason why one won't JB
