Photography is growing very popular these days and most people probably own a camera. App developers have taken notice of the trend and consequently have come up with new and interesting ways for us to share pictures with friends and family.

From this category comes the Beamr app, a neat little software that will help users pack the images stored in their iPhones or iPads into a photo album that looks like a magazine. The content then can be shared via Facebook or Twitter or email. But what really makes this app special is that the images shared are sent in full-resolution up to 28 megapixels.

The application has already popped up in the Apple Store and can be downloaded free of charge. The app works incredibly easy. Just choose the images you want to use from your Camera Roll (only), select a cover image, add a cover title and voila, you are ready to share your creation. When sending the end result via email for example, receiving parties will be able to download all the images in full resolution in form of a zip archive.

In order to allow users to share their images at their full capacity, Beamr works with a technology that optimizes JPEG compression like applications such as JPEGmini use. That’s because both products were design by the Israeli company ICVT. Beamr CTO Dror Gill commented on the new app in a recent interview:

“It’s image science technology, but we wrapped it in a mass market format”.
