Connect to Stereo

Hi guys, Im new to this forum. Sorry if this is the wrong board. Anyway,

I need to play my iPhone 5 through my car stereo. I tried to use my USB charger,
but it just said "device connected" and I couldn't change the song though the phone.
is there a way to use the regular plug headphone jack to stereo? I can't find one anywhere!

My particular field of expertise is iOS Jailbreaking and Unlocking.

Stereo cables do the trick. They'll run you anywhere from $0.99 to $5-10 depending on how fancy the name you want. I'm occasionally using the cheap cable I found at a local electronics store for $1.99 and it works just fine plugging one end into the iPhone's jack and the other into your car.

Check the settings on your radio. I have the option of controlling mine thru the radio. When that option is on, my phone says "device connected" and I can't so anything with it. When I change the setting, I can use iPhone/iPod normally and it plays and charges thru the USB.
