Another blast from the great video gaming past will be popping up on iPhone and iPad this December with the release of The 7th Guest. Slide to Play reports that the live-action adventure puzzle game that dates back to the early 1990s when it had the honour of being the first computer game ever released on CD-ROM, will be making a reappearance as an iOS game before the end of the year. The iOS version is currently being developed by the original company that first made the game, Trilobyte Games, and apparently it was fan interest that inspired the development team to get back together again and make the new iOS versions.

According to Trilobyte's website, The 7th Guest, which sold for $79.95 when it was first released in 1993, and which went on to move approximately 2 million copies, will be retailing on iPhone for $3.99, which is pretty remarkable, when you think of it, and especially when you think of the monster of a computer that you used to have to play it on, and now you can just hold it in the palm of your hand. That never gets old for me!

“I’m excited to bring this ground-breaking classic title to new platforms and a new generation of gamers,” said Rob Landeros, co-founder of Trilobyte and art director/designer on all projects. “The port has been seamless, and our team has optimized the code for a full-range of mobile devices.”
