I'd definitely research the non contract wireless deals in the area that you'll be traveling overseas. Where will you be traveling? We have a very diverse contingent of nationalities represented here @ iPF that should be ale to recommend the best wireless carriers for just about anywhere in the world.

Is your iPhone 4 a GSM or CDMA? If you have Verizon or Sprint you will not be able to use your cellular overseas, only your WIFI
