Hi, I have managed to make my phone think that it has headphones plugged in, I cant hear anyhting unless its on speaker. Definitely not on silent. Any ideas what Ive done or how to fix it?

i take it you have checked the mute button on the side?

Yep, on full volume, not mute, turned it up but it keeps saying headphones instead of volume and I hve no idea how to change that setting. Just to clarify there are no headphones plugged in nor have there been ever.

This same thing happened to me 2 nights back. I found out it was due to rain getting into the headphone port. I resolved this issue by pushing a cotton bud into it and cleaning it. I hope this resolves your problem!

you just jogged my memory saying that,another member had that problem and it turned out to be dirt in the port,similar cleaning cured it,any cleaning of that sort should be gently done though.

that what the usually means, a bit of moisture or speck of dust or something.
Cotton swap as one person suggested, but gently....sometime a BRIEF burst of canned air duster stuff may help......
