Cant send or receive text

I’m trying to reset things and can’t receive temp passwords. Had this with iPhone4 but I can’t find the prob on this one. Any tricks to fix this?

Is this problem with sms texts or iMessage?

I get a not delivered in green text. I can send myself a text with the same phone though. Got this phone a few months ago and was ok until now.

Check to see if send as SMS if iMessage is unavailable is turned on

Delete the conversation and try it again.
Ask the recipient if he has a limit to the texts he/she is allowed to send or receive. If so, they might have to remove some of the texts.
