Calendar losing some events

I just noticed that a number of past and future events are missing from my calendar. Not all but some. Several had been entered after my last sync (to outlook) The ones that disappeard did not seem to have anything in common. Some were re-occuring and some were one time.

Syncing restored all of the ones that had been synced peviously but of course the new ones were lost. Not really a big problem, but what's going on?? It would have been a big problem, except that I noticed that they were gone.
