Brand new iphone 4 need help unlocking please

Hello, please can someone help me, I have received a new iphone 4 today, no sim in it etc.... I have bought a tesco micro sim and it wont work, what do I have to do to get it working please?

You need to plug it into iTunes to activate the sim. Did you buy the phone directly from apple in the UK? If not the tesco sim may not work due to the phone being locked to a pacticular network...
