Baseband Problems

Hello..
My iPhone 4s restore or update failed. In iTunes, it says error 48 and in 3uTools it says error -1 with easy flash but success with pro flash. unfortunately, only showing Apple logo then go blank screen. At this time, i don't want to replace IC baseband. My question...Is possible to update iOS without writing some codes into broken IC?

By doing rehot IC baseband, my iPhone comebacks. Anyway thanks
