Following on from all the drama surrounding the launch of the iPhone 4S in China today, 9to5 Mac reports that Apple has now issued the following statement on the matter, via a spokeswoman:

“The demand for iPhone 4S has been incredible and our stores in China have already sold out. Unfortunately, we were unable to open our store at Sanlitun due to the large crowd. And to ensure the safety of our customers and our employees, iPhones will not be available in our retail stores in Beijing and Shanghai for the time being.”

According to 9to5 Mac, Apple says that customers who want to order an iPhone 4S in China can do so either online or at a China Unicom retail outlet. Unfortunately though, the online store is out of stock, so it looks like those in China wanting an iPhone 4S will have to be patient a little longer. As 9to5 Mac points out, the fact that Apple has actually issued a statement on this matter, which is a rarity in itself, shows just how out of hand the whole situation got. One analyst, Nicole Peng from Canalys, has already commented on Apple's role in the matter, saying that it needs to learn lessons from the situation, and possibly even reduce the chances of it happening again, either in China or elsewhere, by launching products simultaneously around the world.

Electronics are more then an addiction to some of these people and being told the store was closed made them react is such a crazy manner
