AppleInsider reports that both Samsung and Apple CEO Tim Cook have commented following yesterday’s successful outcome for Apple in its patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung. According to All Things D’s Kara Swisher, in an internal memo sent to Apple employees, in which, aside from using some of the same content as Apple’s official statement on the matter, Cook also said that Apple’s lawsuit “has always been about something much more important than patents or money. It’s about values.”

Meanwhile, as AppleInsider reports, Samsung is understandably fuming about the result, to say the least, and issued an official statement saying, among other things, that “Today’s verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices.”

Finally, following on from the verdict, AppleInsider also reports that Apple is looking to file a preliminary injunction to stop Samsung selling the devices that are covered by the ruling, such as its smartphones, in the US.
