Apple Planning on to Reboot 3D-like Apple Logo with "shine at the edges" on 2015 Products

Apple's iconic logo as been mostly the same across all MacBook, iMac and iOS products for many years now. Anyone can take a gander at any of these, without even looking at the design, and know that its an Apple product. According to a new report coming from Taiwan, Apple is apparently looking to switch it up.

The sometimes reliable Digitimes reports Wednesday, citing Taiwan-based supply chain makers, that Apple will be rebooting its logo on Macbooks, iMacs and iOS devices starting 2015. The new logo will apparently have a "3D-like and shine at the edges". If by "shine" they mean it will be lit up using the backlight, some may remember this being a rumor for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which would be awesome. Unfortunately, the publication didn't make it clear enough to know if that is the case, or if Apple will simply be adding a border to the logo, similar to the bezel found on the Touch ID sensor.

Apple is also planning to upgrade the technologies used for printing its logo onto devices and will use laser cutting and unique embedded technologies to make the logo 3D-like and shine at the edges. All Apple's products will feature the new logo in 2015, starting with the next-generation iMac, the sources detailed.

According to Digitimes sources, the new logo will be first released with the next-generation iMac, which is expected to be unveiled on October 16 at the Apple event. The publication adds that Apple will unveil the new iPads, including the new 12-inch Retina MacBook Air on the same date.
