During its WWDC keynote, Apple had announced a brand new news reading app which was meant to take on Flipboard and replace NewsStand. Now, according to a new job listing spotted on Apple's website, it seems that Apple is hiring a team of editors to find and curate content for its News aggregation app, due for release this fall.

Before being removed, Apple's job listing suggested that the company was searching for people to "identify and deliver the best in breaking national, global, and local news." The editors that Apple is looking for will be helping to guide the content in the News stream, such as managing categories, producing newsletters, and coordinating with publishers and newsrooms.

Apple expects its candidates to have at least a bachelors degrees in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, and five or more years of newsroom experience with a "strong emphasis on mobile news delivery." Also, those applying for this position need to be familiar with content analytics and using social networking tools.

I can't wait for the conspiracy theories to start concerning Apple editing content from news sources to put their own spin on it.
