Subscription Content May Be Coming to Apple's News App

Apple's stock News app has been gaining popularity since its release with iOS 9 last year. The app itself looks great and functions most of the time, but there are still a few problems Apple needs to work out.

One problem comes with viewing content for news outlets behind a paywall. Publishers like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal struggle, when it comes to the News app, because both require subscriptions.

Reuters reports on Wednesday that Apple is currently working on developing a system to allow folks to login with such publishers. According to anonymous sources, the new system would be available to Apple partners, like the aforementioned New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
