Phone Arena reports today that it looks as though Apple has successfully signed up Sony Music for its new streaming music service (known as iRadio), just prior to the start of WWDC on Monday, when it is widely expected to announce the service. This follows on from previous reports that Apple had managed to sign a deal with Universal last Sunday, having earlier brokered a deal with Warner Music Group. Phone Arena says that Apple has still to sign a contract with Sony/ATV, however, which is Sony’s music publishing division, but they think that this deal is almost done and dusted too. As Phone Arena notes, Apple is not expected to actually launch the new streaming music service on Monday, but rather simply announce it. It’s not sure whether or not iRadio is actually the official name, or just something that the press made up for the sake of convenience!
