    That didn't take long. I bought the iPad Pro 9.7 when it came out, but it was quickly obsolete, even before now.

    I looked at the photos of the new iPad Air and it doesn't have the 4 speaker stereo sound of the iPad Pro models. Other than that it appears to be capable of almost everything the iPad Pro can do.

    A few other differences can be noted, obvious things like form factor and the change from lightning to USB-C.

    Also interesting that it doesn't support Apple Pencil 2. That's reserved for the pro user, I guess.

    I purchased a 9.7 "regular" 5th Gen iPad last year so I will be passing on the new iPads this year. For what I use my iPad for it serves its purpose well.
