It slowed the rate down a bit. Then I turned it back on and connected to my Beats and it didn't go back to breakneck speed. I'm happy it cooled off as well. I'll track it and see if it was just an aberration.

If it happens again you may want to take it in for a full diagnostic at an Apple Store Genius Bar.

I cycled my battery hard to 2% three times with full charges between and it seems to have repaired itself. Note the standby time
