56 notifications when i really have 2?

So lately I have been getting this thing with the iPF.net app.

When I get a notification, like an subscribed thread, or private message....the badge on the app icon on my springboard will show that I have like 50 notifications. I have seen it go up to almost 70 but when I open the app...I only have a couple.:scratch head:

Anyone got this goin' on?

It's not inside the app, it's the badge on the app icon on the springboard. Once I open the app, the real number of notifications show.

But on the iPF.net app icon, my badge will say "77", "50", "68" whenever I only have a few. . Always some crazy high number.

This is what my app icon looks like:

As when I open the app, I find I have no where near the number of notifications the badge displays. As you can see below, this is what I seen directly after opening the app when it had 84 notifications.

Just one. Just one notification, when the badge says 84.

Also...notification center displays the correct punt of notifications...just the badge doesn't.
