Greetings Everyone,

I have a wav file that I would like to use as a text notification on my phone. The issue that I am having is two-fold: 1) I'm not sure how to convert/use the wav as a notification sound (I would like to do this without having to download an app to do it.) 2) The wav itself is literally only a second long in duration. Is the length going to be an issue in converting it? Or is there a minimum length the file has to be in order for it work?
Curious.

Cheers & Thanks,
SD

The following may help as I used it to convert an mp3 to ring tone for my new '8.
How to set a song as custom ringtone on iPhone at http://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/apple/custom-ringtone-iphone-3622959/
You ask about duration for which 30 seconds is the max; whether there is a minimum I do not know, but I suspect not.
Once you have read through the above as it explains what you are doing, try the following link, as it will generate the m4r file in one go.

Finally, as of Itunes 12.7 there is a setting in need of change to get the tone onto the phone. See the following link 'Manually manage content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes'Manually manage content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes
I hope this helps .answer your problem.

Hmmmm, thank you. I turned an old Star Trek wav into a ring tone quite a while back and although the process was a bit involved, it worked. I didn't run across the wav I currently want to use until around two weeks ago, but the process I used for the previous one - for whatever reason - didn't want to work. Again, thank you.

I used to use Worf saying his infamous it is a good day to die line.

Did the solution work?
