lost apps on iphone 4s

bought the new 4s yesterday. got home. backed up my iphone 3gs and then restored it to the new 4s. 95% of all 3gs info and apps all transferred but in the process I lost all the new apps that were on the new 4s like my facetime app, hd video app, and all the other new apps. very frustrating. how do i get back all the new apps that were on the 4s before i restored by 3gs stuff to it? thanks

Have you tried restoring from your backup again? Perhaps something got jumbled up the first time...

no I have not. can i just do a hard reset and have everything come back the way it was when i purchased the 4s yesterday? then i can try and figure out how to get my 3gs stuff on to the 4s without erasing all the new apps off the 4s.

You can restore it as a New Device via iTunes as opposed to doing it from the backup. That'll set it back up as it was when you first got it.
