Jailbreak questions

Ok I got my iPhone about a week ago and I have been thinking about jailbreaking. I did this on my iPod touch and loved it. Will this be different on my iPhone and will it slow it down at all. Can I turn my iPhone off because I could not turn my iPod off without plugging it back in. And will I have to put all my contacts and etc into something and then resync them.

Back your iPhone up with iTunes and when you jailbreak it make sure you use an untethered jailbreak. This will allow you to shut off your iPhone without having to plug it back In. Sn0wbreeze has a jailbreak for the iPhone depending on what version you have.

Okay and does JB affect the speed of the iPhone in any way?

So when I back up to iTunes how do I do that. I just go to my iPhone and check encrypt iPhone backup. Then after I JB how do I get all my stuff back.

Plug your phone to your computer and lunch itunes, in the left panel, right click on your iphone name, in the drop list select Restore backup.
