I just got an iphone 4 today and everything was going fine until I clicked the update software tab on itunes. I went through all the steps and was told to leave the phone connected so the upgrade could progress and it could take up to an hour - that was 3 hours ago! should I be worried or is this normal?

It has the ipsw files for all firmwares so select 5.0 and you can do a option+restore or shift+restore for windows.

3 hours sound like an awful long time to me even with a slow connection speed. Are you still using a modem and telephone to get on the net......lol I hope all works out for you and remember if you ahve any problems or issues just post them like you did this one and someone will help you the best they can.
